The automatic steel pipe palletizer completes its packaging tasks through automatic loading, alignment, counting and collecting, row-by-row transverse movement, row-by-row loading, hexagonal bale stacking, and strapping. The detailed process is as follows:
I. Core Packaging Process
Automatic Loading and Alignment
Steel pipes are transported to the packaging area via a conveyor belt. Alignment mechanisms (such as pneumatic baffles) ensure the pipe ends are aligned, providing a stable foundation for subsequent stacking.
Counting and Collection and Row-by-Row Transverse Movement
The control system uses sensors to monitor the number of steel pipes in real time. When the preset number is reached, the row-by-row transverse movement mechanism is triggered. This mechanism, driven by a chain or servo motor, moves the pipes horizontally to the palletizing area while maintaining an orderly arrangement.
Hexagonal Bale Stacking
The palletizing area utilizes adjustable-angle stacking rollers. Adjusting the roller angle allows for various stacking configurations, such as square and hexagonal bales. For example, when stacking hexagonal bales, the roller angle is adjusted to 60°, allowing the pipes to form a natural hexagonal structure, improving space utilization and stability. Strapping and Forming
After stacking is complete, the forming mechanism (including the lifting platform and upper and lower forming plates) compresses the steel pipe bundles, and then an automatic strapping machine (such as a steel strapping machine) straps the packages. The strapping tape is quickly bonded using a hot melt system to prevent the packages from falling apart during transport.

Electromagnetic Suction Cup and Servo Control
The electromagnetic suction cup motion mechanism uses lifting and translation servo motors to precisely control the steel pipe handling path, ensuring accurate placement of each layer of pipes. For example, Shenyang Kangte Electromechanical's equipment utilizes DSP technology to achieve 0.1mm positioning accuracy.
PLC and Sensor Collaboration
The PLC control system receives sensor signals (such as pipe counting and position detection) and dynamically adjusts mechanical movements. For example, when the pipe counting bracket reaches the set number, the PLC triggers the lifting and horizontal feeding mechanism to activate, completing automatic loading and unloading.
Hydraulic and Pneumatic Systems
The forming mechanism's lifting platform relies on servo hydraulic cylinders for precise displacement control. The main load-bearing section utilizes three independent hydraulic cylinders, each with a maximum load capacity of approximately 1500kg, ensuring a stable stacking process.
III. Packaging Task Completion Results
Improved Efficiency: The automated process achieves a packing speed of 5-7 times per second, an increase of over 80% compared to manual operations.
Improved Quality: The strapping adheres tightly to the package surface, reducing the rate of scattering during transport to less than 0.5%.
